The last time I was in a hurricane was really after the fact–1996–hurricane Fran. I was at a Neil Young concert in Chicago. During his performance of the song “Like a Hurricane” (yes, it’s true!), I got a phone call at that moment from a friend who said “Raleigh, North Carolina is getting wiped out.”
While I may seem to have had a “good time” experiencing the elements in Sarasota on Sunday, September 10th, there are a many people who experienced heart-break, anxiety and all kinds of loss. This video just shows what it is like to be a meteorologist who lives for wild weather, but who is also, at the same time, greatly concerned about the well being of his home, community, city and state.
