President, Best Weather, Inc. | Co-Founder - ClimatePredict

Jim Roemer, the founder of Best Weather, Inc., is one of the few meteorologists working today with a multi-dimensional understanding of commodity trading, market analysis, and long-range weather forecasting.

With insights drawn from his in-depth knowledge of technical analysis, trading and crop production cycles, and commodity markets psychology, Jim provides advice to thousands of farmers and futures traders—in addition to large institutional investors, major grain companies, energy producers, and hedge funds.

Serving clients on five continents, Jim has over thirty years of experience as a commodity research analyst and weather forecaster. His business as a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC); he and Best Weather, Inc. are registered with the National Futures Association (NFA)

Some of his most recent weather market calls have been:

  • Previous warm winters from 2020-2022 and the winter time bear markets in natural gas with various options and etf strategies.
  • The collapse in coffee prices in 2021-2022 following droughts and freezes that helped coffee prices reach $2.00.
  • The summer 2021 spring wheat drought and rally in prices and the etf (weat)
  •  Predicting that 70% of the midwest corn belt would get decent summer rains and in the midst of drought. Recommending bearish strategies and hedges in corn close to $5.00.
  • El nino driven weather problems for cocoa and sugar with various bullish option strategies to catch part of the bull move.

Jim can be seen sharing his meteorological expertise as a guest on Bloomberg and CNBC and in interviews in Barron’s and the Wall Street Journal. He also provides weather fundamentals to thousands of subscribers for SeekingAlpha.com and Barchart.com as a contributing writer.

Splitting his time between Sarasota, FL, and Vermont, Jim has a deep passion for and concern about the environment and climate change.

Doug Stewart, Ph.D.

Co-Founder; Designer of Climatech

Dr. Douglas Stewart, C.C.M. holds graduate degrees in meteorology from M.I.T. (S.M) and the University of Miami (Ph.D). He has more than 35 of years experience developing computer models and analyzing geophysical data sets in support of meteorological and applied climate studies, and has over 15 years of experience in developing web-based software. He has developed web tools to project commodity and equity prices. During the late 1990’s, he and his colleagues at Climatological Consulting Corporation developed a Web tool for calculating the fair market value of HDD and CDD weather derivatives and conducted several workshops on pricing weather derivatives.

In addition to developing CLIMATECH’s climatepredictanalytics.com tool, he has developed a sophisticated weather risk analysis tool that assesses, monitors, and projects non-catastropic day-to-day and week-to-week weather risk applicable to a wide variety of weather-sensitive industries. Doug’s work on developing long-range forecasts of monthly-to-season climate anomalies will be incorporated into this weather risk tool to extend its range of applicability. His concern over the global impacts of climate change motivates his vision to promote resilience to adverse weather, while recognizing that this adaptation is not the ultimate solution for keeping the planet habitable.

Doug lives in southeast Florida and spends his free time on other interests, including sailing, boat building, skiing, hiking, and camping. He enjoys working on challenging projects, with strong commitments to their completion.
